There were automatic cameras installed for wildlife access monitoring at some of the protected natural spring headwaters in participation of eco-club students. During their school winter break, they shared the photos and videos (e.g. the saigas accessed to natural springs) on their cell phones with their parents and neighbors presented how they participated in the protection efforts and how water flows of the natural springs got increased as their headwaters were protected. Total of 771 school children in 7 soums took part a weeklong event and shared their activities with 902 local herders. All these information sharing event was interesting for adults because they live in far remote areas that have limited internet access mostly. Moreover, the footages from automatic camera traps were used to produce a poster. The poster and monitoring results are shared via social platforms.
“We actively participated in the promotion of monitoring research results. Adults support the results of our activities. They understood the importance of protecting the springs. We will try harder”, they said.
