Online meeting-discussion for local Citizen’s representative khural members and Department of environment
The Government of Mongolia has established a heightened alert and lockdown due to increasing COVID-19” outbreak cases in the country. This pandemic affects every sector of businesses including the environment. However, WWF-Mongolia continues its daily activities by all possible or accepted ways as recommended by the Government. One of the recent activities organized was an Online Environment Day with newly elected Citizen’s representative khural (CRKh) members in Khovd province on November 27, 2020. At the meeting 23 new and 5 former CRKh members attended, with result of 68% total participants.
Environmental issues were one of the prioritized concern which were discussed for about 4.5 hours. The new CRKh members were happy to learn with the environmental sector’s issues and highlighted to prioritize the sector. At the end of one-day online meeting, Mr. G. Purevgandi, Head of Khovd aimag CRKh, pointed out that the CRKh will support the individuals and entities’ initiative towards Green development plan of Khovd province.

During the meeting Khovd aimag Department for Environment authorities presented the priority issues, projects and programmes implementing in the region.
