The children wrote a letter about their father, a ranger
WWF-Mongolia is working with sub-commission on prevention of environmental crimes of Khovd province. As part of this work, a letter competition was announced among the children of Khovd province rangers named “My father’s journey”. The children wrote about interesting and educational stories from their father's conservation work. A TV program based on the letters of students will be produced and broadcasted. As a result, hopefully the public will appreciate the hard work of rangers.
In addition, on the occasion of the Mongolian grayling breeding season, in cooperation with sub-commission on prevention of environmental crimes of Khovd province, “I will save” campaign was organized. A short video on the above topics was prepared and broadcasted on social media, and more than 13,000 people have enjoyed it.
Mongolian grayling is only found in the lakes and rivers of the Great Lakes Depression in western Mongolia. In other words, it inhabits only in Mongolia. Grayling is an indicator of freshwater, and if the population of this species is stable, the habitat is considered to be intact.
