Photo exhibitions are much appreciated by local visitors
WWF-Mongolia in cooperation with relevant parties successfully organized a photo exhibition “Wonder of Altai mountains” where a total of 120 nature, wildlife, and Mongolian nomadic living photos taken by over 20 photographers from four aimags in Western Mongolia were displayed. A purpose of the exhibition was to show insights of Mongolian tradition and customs and naturally scenic areas and their diverse wildlife species in order to inspire local people to protect, care, and be proud of the specific natural conditions.
The mobile photo exhibition travelled in 4 Western provinces and seen by a total of more than 43,000 visitors including 6,449 school and kindergarten children, 13,675 locals, and 21,478 people on local television and artsteps.com website. The photos were also seen by many other people including users of VR box and virtual exhibition or artsteps.com website.
The exhibition attracted by many visitors. For instance, the photo exhibition in Uvs aimag was visited by groups of school children and health care workers. Some visitors shared their impressions on the photos in the exhibition thanked its organizers.
During the exhibition, some special events were organized. One of them was a three-day basic training on photographing which was given by a professional photographer from the Mongolian National Federation for Photographers. The training was attended by 54 individuals. Additionally, photographers from Govi-Altay and Uvs aimags opened clubs of photographers in the aimags. The newly established clubs expressed their willingness to organize different types of events including those for environmental protection. Visitors of the photo exhibitions in the aimags expressed many positive and inspiring impressions highlighted that these types of public events had high educational and inspiring for environmental conservation.
For instance, a visitor of the photo exhibition, said: “I have never imagined such diverse colours in nature. Nature and environment in the photos are looked like drawings. I wish to thank its organizers”. A school teacher visited the exhibition said: “there are many photos showing diversity of nature and wildlife (flora and fauna) species in the region. These photos are especially important for children to know about insights of nature and environment and wildlife species. I think the children visited the photo exhibition are able to see what they learned in their classrooms and what they have not heard and learned yet”. So the photos in the exhibition are highly educational”.
Many visitors wrote down in a visitors’ impression book: “We have seen a lot of products that have been produced as a result of hard work and enthusiasm. They are really impressive. In fact, we have visited many places we were not been before”.
