"Earth Hour" grove will be planted

Starting last year, they aimed to plant 10 thousand trees along the main entrance to the province center, on the occasion of "Earth Hour".

WWF-Mongolia has been celebrating "Earth Hour" in Mongolia since 2010. This year, a total of 12 provinces including Khovd, Gobi-Altai, Uvs, and Bayan-Ulgii have participated, with more than 6000 people came together for “Earth Hour”. In the past, typically 4-5 provinces used to join the event. This year, 12 provinces celebrated "Earth Hour" which proves Mongolians are actively involved in protecting nature.
Altai-Sayan branch of WWF-Mongolia celebrated "Earth Hour-2019" in Khovd province in a unique way. Starting last year, they aimed to plant 10 thousand trees along the main entrance to the province center, on the occasion of "Earth Hour". Last year, they raised MNT 4.3 million(1700 USD) and planted 1700 trees. During "Earth Hour 2019”, they raised MNT 10.8 million(4100 USD) which will be used for 600 trees planting and their maintenance for 3 years. The campaign will continue for two years.
A total of 40 bicyclists participated in the event in Bayan-Olgii province during "Earth Hour" celebration and cycled around the city. More than 40 people participated in the Q&A Competition on the environment and climate change issues at the main square.
